Dont know what to do for the best.

Currently Im renting but am about to complete on a house purchase with a v small mortgage from the proceeds of my divorce settlement.

Im doing quite well, I get a good sized spousal and child maintenance amount, a part time job and CTC, WTC.

Boyfriend spends the odd night with me but we have discussed co habiting.....

Then boyfriend looses his job, he faces loosing his flat and probably (hes in engineering) a complete career change and probably no income for at least a few months while he sorts himself out.
To add a complication, it looks like I may be made redundant soon as well...

I feel that the right thing to do would be to have him live with me now, its been 18 months. Id continue to pay for everything till he gets back on his feet. If I am made redundant I would look for more work.

Running everything through a benefits calculator isnt really helping me, basing it on last years income and with neither of us having any income for the next financial year give me only £300 a month in benefits whereas as a single mother of 2 living alone right now I get about £600 plus my salary. This cant be right surely?

Help!
