Tried to enter chat just now.

I just couldn''t type! Most of the letters I typed simply didn''t appear, by the time I went back and corrected, the conversation had moved on. If I tried to delete stuff, nothing would happen, and then far too much would be deleted.

Normally I am pretty good and fast at typing (secretarial college in my gap year!) but pretty rubbish at technology. Am I right in thinking that it was a problem of my broadband being too slow?

Typing here is no problem, it was just on chat. Sometimes I got one of those multicoloured circles going round.

Is there anything I can do? Bear in mind I am NOT paying more to switch internet provider. But whenever I have been asked if I want to pay more for faster broadband I have always said I don''t have a problem with my broadband speed.

If there is anything else I can do, please tell!

Thanks

Hi Eliza,

Sorry to hear you were having problems in the chat-room last night.

It could be an issue with your internet speed, it does sound like it. Have a look at the instructions on this page - chatroom technical support and try clearing your cache, make sure you have the latest version of Flash Player and perhaps consider using Google Chrome as your browser.

I''ve tested chat several times today, and I haven''t come across any issues, so it does suggest that either there was a blip or another technical issue.

Try the instruction on the tech page, and see how you get on tonight.

I''ve been having trouble with chat for the last 5 or 6 days also.

I now need to enter chat via a secondary log-in page, but some days get trapped there.
I get told I am "already in" even after a re-start, & clear-out.

I''ve also had the ''invisible typing'' thing, & (not recently) the ''miniature font'' business too.

I can''t stay logged-in on multiple tabs either :(

Just comparing paper bags :)
