Hi,

For the first time ever I have to submit a tax return.

I am just a normal PAYE employee, but since my divorce I have bought a property to rent out, hence my problem.

Can enyone give me some pointers on what I have to do to fill in an online return?

With many thanks

Have you looked at the online form? Which bits of it are causing you problems?

I used to have to do a tax return because ex and I once had a business together. But it wasn't complicated - provided you have your P60 substitute [form you get telling you how much you earned and paid in tax from your employer] and info about any interest you earned on savings, it should be quite straightforward. I presume you will need to declare the amount you've earned in rent on your property.
