It's probably 8 years since I first looked here for advice, and I've been on my own nearly six.
A lot has changed, I have zero contact with my ex husband but I hear about him from friends.
He was arrested for assaulting his current partner which actually made me feel better.
Finally the front of being a quiet gentle type was gone and mentally it freed me.
I've been diagnosed with CPTSD but nothing much helped, being too worried to go to sleep is a hard way to live.
I took advantage of counselling and anti depressants but it's been a slow healing.
Last year I had a bad one physically and stress wise but it feels lately I've got more control.
There are days I feel a bubble of happiness inside and I spend time being thankful for the free life I now have.
To anyone in that maelstrom of emotions please take heart, I wanted to end my life several times as I could see no end to it.
You will get there, lean on friends, talk in here and truly, you will be OK. xxx
