My name's xxxxx, I'm an artist based in the UK. I'm recently divorced from my husband, who is also the father of our two beautiful daughters.

Things really went wrong when he got a new job, a well paid executive position,'ll XXxX, for an IT company based in xxxxx, UK. Initially I thought that at last our lives were on track, we had a good income, a nice home, etc. However it quickly became apparent that I wasn't living up to his expectations and no matter what I did, I couldn't be the wife he believed he deserved.

Following the divorce I initially felt embarrassed and ashamed, however I now refuse to be a victim, I have nothing to hide, I refuse to take the blame even though my ex-husband is more than happy to allow our friends and family believe it was my fault.

Going through the divorce was very tough, but it was the time after the divorce that I found even more difficult, as things came to light and I discovered just what kind of person he really is.

This was the behaviour of a man who portrayed himself as a caring, loving husband and father, professional executive and good Christian.

I made great efforts to make it work but it was never enough. He made it clear he didn't want our marriage to continue, however he left it to me to bring it to an end, I assume so he could always say it was me that ended our marriage.

Time has passed, things have moved on, I'm happy to say I've now met a fantastic man who's caring, honest and genuine. He loves me the way I am, I no longer feel pressured to try and be someone else.

I have a new life, a very happy one.

So don't lose hope, no matter how bad your feeling, there's definitely life after divorce!

Thankyou for sharing your story, this is what I need to hear right now!
I'm in the early stages of separating, and we are having to live in our house together while we sell it and find our own homes. Its really tough right now, so its really good to hear about life afterwards, helps me to refocus and keep going.
