Hi there,

I have a bit of a query. My ex and I have been seperated (living apart) for quite some time now, apporx 9 months. We each have a car but I own both cars (in my name).

After we split we continually argued over who should pay mediation, mortgage and the home improvmeents loan.

To cut a long story short - I am in approx 6.5k debt to the Home improvments loan. After all the bills (and food) I am negative £500 every calendar month. I want to take the car back that I own, sell it and pay off the home improvements loan outright.

Is this something I can legally do? She started ranting and screaming at me (on email) "you cannot take my car off me" kind of thing. Previously, before the pandemic hit she claimed she needed it to get work and take the kids to school etc.

Cheers!
PS We are due to go to court in about 2 months, our first appearance.
PPS I own my own car too. When we were together I funded everything, insurance (very high as she crashed a lot), tax, mot & servicing etc.
