Hello , we have seperate with my wife but not divorce for almost 1 year and we have 1y8 months child. she was getting housing benefit and now they stop to pay for her , because housing said that she needs to provide proof of nationality of the EEA familiy member she married with. I am from Belgium live in the UK since 5 years and i have been working all this time and present. But we are no more living togther and my brother was asking me to call the coucil and give them a copy of my passport and my proof that i am working. If i do that would the coucil ask me to contribute to pay for her housing or they just need to see if i am from EEA and i am working so that she can be entitiled. Please advise.
